This choice reflects the Noucentisme style prevalent in Catalonia at the time, which often looked to classical and Mediterranean forms as a reaction against the earlier Modernisme movement.

Height and Structure: Each tower stands at an impressive 47 meters (154 feet) tall, with a square base measuring 7.2 meters (24 feet) on each side.
Materials: The construction showcases a handsome combination of materials. The base is made of artificial stone, the main shaft is constructed from exposed red brick, and the upper section, a colonnaded viewing gallery, returns to artificial stone.
Distinctive Roofs: Each tower is crowned by a pyramidal copper roof, which has oxidized over time to a distinctive greenish hue, adding to their historic character.
Ornamental Function: While they appear robust and functional, their role is almost entirely aesthetic. They were designed to frame the view up the Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina towards the Magic Fountain and the Palau Nacional, creating a majestic visual axis.
